Is it a disadvantage to attend community college?

<p>Majoring in humanities is fine. Just make sure that you’ve got a solid science background beyond the basic med school requirements.</p>

<p>That means you may have to use your electives to take science classes rather than underwater basketweaving or wine tasting (yes, we have that at Cornell) in order to prove that you can handle the rigor of MD/PhD. It’s hard. I talked to one in the lab I spent 7 months in and she said if she had to do it all over again, she wouldn’t have done it, she’d just get her MD and be done with it.</p>

<p>A qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate that he or she is adept in science and has siginificant knowledge in the area of his or her scientific research.</p>
