My stats are a little below Marylands and my friends told me don’t apply early because there is a stronger pool of applicants. Is this true?
From my personal experience, I was a transfer student who applied to UMD for fall 2016. At the time of my application I had only 15 credits so I had to submit my high school transcript and my Sat scores which were not good at all (1.8, 1190). I could have applied on regular decision when I have 30 credits so that they won’t check my high school grades but I decided to apply by priority and have them just look at my grades. I managed to get in because UMD checks high school grades for improvement. My friend applied a lot later with somewhat better stats then mines but was rejected. I think they’re more considerate if you apply early but thats just me.
Your friends are wrong, it’s much harder to get into UMD through regular decision than priority decision. Definitely apply early!
@cammiekohl thanks!
@LustinJack12 thnx!
