I am thinking about minoring in philosophy at Kansas State. It requires 18 credits (6 being electives). I am placing out of Calc 1 & 2, freeing up 8 credits. Oh yeah and I am majoring in civil engineering believe it or not. Is this going to be too much of a workload?

That’ll depend on your school’s specific requirements. I’d suggest writing out a 4 year plan… see if you can fit all the requirements for your major, minor, and GE classes in 8 semesters, aiming for 14-17 credits (or whatever your school’s guideline is) per semester. Does it look balanced? Can any courses satisfy multiple requirements at the same time? From that you should get a pretty good idea of if it’s doable, and how it’ll affect your schedule.
