My child is a NMSF and has already submitted official SAT score to National Merit since it was comparable with PSAT score. Recently , after taking SAT for the second time , the score went up by almost 200 points. Now we are debating whether to send the second SAT score to them or not? Will they even look at it? This child might be in the running for corporate MN scholarship.

Is the first one above 2000? If it is I don’t think you need to send it to NM But for sure send it to colleges.

If you’re primarily looking for a corporate NM scholarship, the improved score would probably only matter to the corporation offering the scholarship. If the child wants to improve (possibly) their chances of getting the one-time $2500 NM scholarship then the higher score MIGHT make a difference, although no one really knows what criteria NMSC uses when awarding those schollies. For any of the school-sponsored awards, anything above the minimum score of 1960 will allow the child to clear the SAT score hurdle for NMF advancement and keep them eligible for those.

My advice would be to send it. It cannot hurt in any way (other than the cost to send the score) and it might possibly help.
