Is it bad to change anything on the IRS DRT?

The FAFSA makes you eligible for federal aid. If the school gave you a merit scholarship, ask them if it depends on verification.

You never anwered the question about what you changed after you did DRT.

Did you get a financial aid award from Vtech yet? What did it have listed for aid?

They already have that via idoc, in my case. @mahambazz did you not have to do Profile/idoc?

Are you instate for Vtech? Do you have a low EFC? Otherwise don’t expect much aid other than loans from Vtech. Your scholarship might be it.

You weren’t wrong to change your numbers on the DTR, you just didn’t know the ramifications of doing so. Here is what will now happen only if you are selected for a process called verification you will need to provide the school with a copy of your tax transcripts. You can also wait until you can submit changes to your FAFSA and redo the DTR process and that will fix the issues. With the conflicting data you provided you now have a higher percentage of being selected for verification.

@OHMomof2

This other student is talking about Va Tech. They don’t use Profile or IDOC. Most schools don’t use Profile or IDOC.

I’m instate and planning on going to vtech and they gave me a scholarship to pay for the whole thing. In order to fully get the scholarship I had to verify my fafsa. The thing that I changed on my fafsa is the taxed income and that’s why I have to send them the transcript. Just today I signed the papers for the scholarship and they are waiting for verification which will now take longer cause of my mistake.
