Or EE 20N ? But I don't think that one is available during the summer.
So in Spring 2012 I need to take 3 technical courses because I need to finish the lower-division prerequisites by the summer as a transfer student. I'll be taking CS 61B during the Spring as well. I tried taking CS 47B this Fall but I found it to be very difficult. It assumes way too much knowledge. But I guess the data structures at the CC I went to didn't cover the material in depth and it was on C++. I will probably only take 12 units cause I don't like EE at all after a fail attempt at EE 20 N this fall but I plan to do some math studying over the winter break. Which one is possibly the most time-consuming/difficult that I should save it for the summer?

I was wondering about taking 61C during the summer as well… Hopefully people have some experience/advice to share…

I took EE40 in the summer and I thought it was manageable while doing an internship. I did okay in the class but I imagine I would have done a lot worse completing it in the Fall/Spring. CS61C + EE40 is a very dangerous combination though. Some can’t even handle those two during the year.

I’m scared >_<
I guess I’ll be taking CS61B, CS 61C and EE20N in the spring then. Hopefully CS 61B will be easier since I’ve already had a data structures class…

^3 lab classes. Try not to take anything else then (or if anything, really easy). Otherwise you’ll have weeks with multiple projects + midterms

61B and 61C at the same time? You will regret it.
I am warning you: you will hate your life.
You think I’m joking. I’m not. You will hate your life.

Do some of the materials overlap? Like will I actually need to know 61B to do well in 61C? Need some advice pls >_<

I don’t know if replacing CS 61C with EE 40 will be any better because I heard that EE 40 is also project based. And I’m not good in EE. When I got the first hw from EE 20N, I was like I couldn’t even do most of it…
I’m also in CS 9G right now which covers Chapters 1-13 of the Java book in 61B, basically just the syntax of Java I guess. And I’ve had a data structures course in C++ last year at a CC. To be honest I don’t think the data structures course I took helped much because I tried to take CS 47B this Fall to replace CS 61B and I thought it was tough. Berkeley covers the material way more in depth…but probably has to do with me not knowing Java. I don’t know people keep saying that once you know C++ then you would know Java too. The basic syntax looks similar in the beginning but the two languages really do have alot of differences…
Maybe I can also try to review CS 47B over the winter break but I heard that CS 61B is really useful in general anyway. Would you still recommend taking CS 61B or just fulfill it with CS 47B if I could?

Take CS61B with Shewchuk for sure. His version of the class is simply the best. CS61C next semester is taught by Patterson who, well, wasn’t very good. He has good reviews, but my friends and I didn’t like his lecturing style. I guess CS61B, EE40, and EE20 might be manageable. EE20 has spiked workloads while CS61B and EE40 remain consistent throughout the semester with hw and/or a project every week.

Anyone have any experience with 61C during the summer?
