Is it better to transfer into an engineering school?

Best thing to do is go to the School, if you think it fits your needs and is best for you, then thats the school you need to go to.

The USnews rankings are Kinda BS, anyway. I think they are OK for a Broad Scope, but any school that wanted to be high on the list could if they filled out the surveys properly. Its Kinda like if you smell, you wouldn't say you smelled.

It might be a good idea to study your core classes at community and then transfer. Before you do anything check if your credits will be transferred to the school of your choice. the last thing you want is 2 years in community college to find out the senior college will only give you 50% of the credits earned. Check the articulation agreements between your school and senior colleges (CC usually has a decent senior college transfer program especially for students with your credentials.)
Smaller class sizes and less work may be a benefit but make sure you learn the material very well so that you don't fall behind once you transfer.

I just finished my first year of transferring from CC to a university for engineering and you should take the lower level courses at university to better acclimate yourself to the new environment before you take upper level courses.

You will also meet more people. My first semester after transferring was tough. This is meant to inform you of my experiences, and is not meant to discourage you.

redgoober4life - If you don't mind, is it possible to get a little further into depth pertaining to your experience while transferring?
Was the coursework significantly tougher? Did you find yourself far behind the rest of your classmates academically? Or, were your restrictions more relevant to how the school operates and finding your way around campus, Etc. Etc.?
