Need some answers…
No. But they need to know what the top times are on each college team and see if they’re near those - regardless if division.
Look at Denison.
It would help to know why you want to be recruited as a swimmer. Are you seeking an athletic scholarship or assured admission to a highly selective university/college ? Or both ?
It’s kinda both…I love the sport and I did it for a very long time so I just wanna take my sport into the next level. Whereas here in Singapore and Hong Kong, it’s not that competitive in terms of time in comparison to the us…
OP, You have started a number of threads related to swimming and recruitment. Have you filled out the online recruiting questionnaires at the colleges on your list? Contacted the coaches via email or phone? If so, what feedback have you received re: your swim times and likelihood of being recruited?
I am still a sophomore… so all the calling stuff is a bit fast for now…I am just getting knowledge before I actually do it… because it’s really rare for international kids to be recruited… espacially here in Hong Kong.
this will be my last swimming related post LOL i feel like I have done it too much
OP, looks like you will be entering college in Fall 2020. I thought you were in Singapore, but now you are in Hong Kong?
Regardless, it is not too early to fill out the recruiting questionnaires for the colleges you are interested in (cast a wide net). You should do that now so that you are on the coaches’ radars and mailing lists. I don’t know the NCAA rules for swimming (look it up), but for many sports, athletes can have significant contact with coaches starting Sept 1 of junior year (in 2 weeks). You received a lot of good feedback in your previous threads regarding possible target schools, how to calculate AI, etc., so you have a great base of information.
In the meantime, control what you can control: focus on your grades, study for the SAT/ACT and improve your swim times this upcoming season. Good luck.
Thanks yall for the info… I am done with questioning about swimming lol
