is it hard to get 2.5

how hard is it to get above a 2.5 for a semester.

Hah...idk, wanna find out?

I got a 2.75 my first semester in college after graduating high school with a 1.6....then again I AM going to community college...sooooo...

I can't believe you actually repsonded to this thread...sigh

I reply because I love.

UR put me on academic probation, meaning i have to get above 2.5 for the fall semester in order to enroll for the spring. I kno i can do it, but its stressful knowing the consequences if i dont.

A 2.5 is what, a high C? This should not be difficult to beat if you work hard.

High B, Fides.

2.5 is between C+ and B-, closer to C+.

yea i'm ready to work my ass off. screw 2.5, i'm aiming for 4.0!

Maybe I'm just confused. That's entirely possible.

1=D 2=C 3=B 4=A +/-= +/-0.33

just a quick refresher. . . and no, a 2.5 shouldn't be difficult at all unless your at a school way out of your league. If you got one B and 3 C's you'll be fine. Or all B-'s, or mostly B-'s and a few c's or C-'s. Basically, don't get any D's and try to do a few B's at least.

What did you do to get on academic probation?

2.5 is easy. That's what, 2 B's and 2 C's? That's not hard at all if you actually study once in a while.

A 2.5 is a C+ average and is easy to get. Getting a 3.5 your first semester is hard work.

Yep, 3.5 is hard. I fell just short of that first semester (3.4) but I got it second (3.54). My cumm. gpa is now 3.46.

Ah, I see where I'm messed up. I'm used to my high school's grading system, in which 100=4.0, 99=3.9, 85=2.5, 76=1.6 and so on.

What did you do to get on academic probation?

I'm going to be a freshmen at UR. they put me on academic probation after recieving the final transcript(highschool).

Not all schools use the +/- = +/- 0.33 do they?

i've never heard of anybody getting anything above a 4.0

I have heard of plenty of people who have gotten above a 4.0 granted I never have met them and I have forgotten where they go to school. I seriously have heard of them.

What is it with all of these weird schools that I hear about butchering the normal system of calculating grades? Someone needs to go tell them to stop trying to be "special".
