Is it harder to get in if you want to major in economics?

I read somewhere that people applying to major in economics have a lower acceptance rate since a lot of people want to major in it. I heard that this is especially so for the ivies. How true is this statement?

Well, Cornell has an applied Economics and management major which has the lowest acceptance rate of the entire University I believe (around 9%)…im not too sure about Economics in CAS though

Ok, then I don’t think that would apply to me since I’m applying to CAS.

Cornell is all about fit. If you seem like a good fit for Economics, it won’t be harder than another major.

For example, someone who has taken bc calc and ap physics will probably find it easier to get into engineering than the hotel school…

That makes sense. Thanks for the insight!
