Imagine you are invited to give a lecture to the students and faculty. What would you talk about and why?
I am confused by the word “lecture”. My essay is more of an inspirational speech than an educational one.
Here is how it actually goes: when I was young, I always wanted a simple life with no big change. I had just wanted my own life until I witnessed HIV-infected kids who are too guiltless to be victimized, and then the destruction of Aleppo that led to the deaths of innocent human beings. I knew I could no longer stay still. But as soon as I decided to act, I realized if I stayed in my country with the community that is afraid to speak up for their rights and neglects the invaders trying to take over our land, I would never be able to make the change. Therefore, being able to go on this stage, I am sharing this to say that I need you and we need each other to unite and act for peace, for social justice and for the future of many unborn generations. I know we are here at this liberal arts school which holds a strong belief in students’ ability to create values, you weren’t just listening to a fellow’s lecture, but to be reminded that we are ready for to aid each other in this era of human civilization.
Can anyone give me advice on this?
