Is it possible to get a 700 on the math SAT!

Recently I have written the New SAT test on October and gotten a 1090. (500 Reading and writing and 590 on Math). I have practiced some of the Math practice tests and got my math score to 600. But I am worried that I may not be able to get a 700 on the Math. Is it even possible to get a 700? Do any of you guys have suggestions that I can implement to increase my score? Is it possible for you guys to tell me how to use my time wisely in section 3 math no calculator. ( I get extra time on the exam but I don’t know how to use it wisely)

Sorry if these are dumb questions

Bump

If math is what really troubles you and are focusing on, something I would really reccomend is to do many practice tests. I am not one of these crazy people on these forums with 1550+ . But I did receive a 740 on my math section without studying. What I did for the test was do all the questions I knew how to do for a fact first. If I had any question or doubt of doing that question and knew I would waste time, I would star that question and skip it. Know that there has to be a way to find that answer. If you end up doing enough practice tests, eventually you’re going to be very used to the topics of questions and it will become almost a chore. Just work hard.

Thank You

Another tip for you is to Underline What the question is asking for, so that You won’t make silly mistakes.
E.g.: What is the value of x?
Then, you should underline “value of x”. Otherwise, you may spend time searching for value of y, or 2x, and waste your time.
Good luck with your test.

It may seem silly but practice your basic math facts - 7+8 & 7x8 - that basic. It will speed things up tremendously and help you to quickly eliminate bad answer choices. There are some apps that can help you with speed.

it’s completely impossible, it’s never been done before

This one thing really worked for me. You should try it too. When you’re studying for the math section (I’d recommend using Barron’s Math Workbook), just write down all the formulae, all the new concepts, all the new types of sums, and all the tricky sums you’ve studied on that day in a book or in a word document (if it’s in a document ensure you transfer it to your phone). By the time I was done studying for SAT math I had a 12 page word document and I went through it everyday and revised it on the day of the exam too. I got a 750 in my first attempt and I’m “between above average and good” at math. Believe me it REALLY REALLY REALLY does help.

And use your extra time by checking all your answers. Just mark all the sums you found difficult or confusing while you’re solving them. You can check them in the remaining time. Check the other easier sums after you’re done with them.

Also this really simple tip which even I was unaware of till a few days before the exam- whenever you’re supposed to find an unknown variable like ‘x’ or ‘y’ or blah, just plug in all the answer choices you have. When the term on the right hand side matches that on the left hand side, you have your answer.

You can study for free if you make an account on Khan Academy, there are 4 full practice tests and explains how to do every problem afterwards.

Best way to prepare is to go through practice papers and if given the opportunity get a tutor to help run down the questions if you are weak on maths.

I’ve seen 720 & 730 math scores…

I’ve been doing trials and my last test is a 780. I will be sitting the SAT this Saturday.
