I was assigned for next week as my registration window. Only problem is Vandy only recently emailed me saying my immunization requirements weren't fully met. It was only yesterday that I could fax them the missing info (ONE vaccination...), and they said it would take 1-2 weeks to process the documents and have my hold lifted. Seeing as my registration window is next week, I'm panicking. Does this mean I have ONLY next week to register? I do NOT want to wait a couple months to have the chance to register again because I NEED to take my major and pre-med courses, which, as I can imagine, will fill up very quickly. Do you think my advisor can override the system so I can register anyways?

It’s worth calling whoever handles the immunization holds (no clue who that is) to see if you can get your hold lifted earlier. I don’t think your adviser can lift that hold, but that may be a good place to start to see if you can track down the right person. It may be the University registrar.

If you click your registration date in the top right corner of YES, it will pop up a list of all your enrollment windows. It may also list “modules” but ignore that. Open enrollment is available to all students on July 23. There should be a few other enrollment windows between your first registration day and open enrollment. I can’t remember how it works for first years, but usually you get a 1-day window for your enrollment group, then a second 1-day window open to all first years.

My daughter’s immunization is still on “hold” and has been. I called a week before registration to check and they said it could take weeks to make it through the piles of forms they have and get all the immunization holds lifted.

She didn’t have a problem at all with registering. I do remember her advisor telling her that this was one “hold” that wouldn’t cause any problems with scheduling - and it didn’t.

Our daughter’s registration window started June 9 and says it goes through June 27th. Check on YES – maybe you do have more than just one week. Also, the immunization hold had not been lifted off her account when she registered on Monday, even though documents had been submitted on time, but we were told by the folks in the imm. records office that it would not prevent her from registering. They were right in her case. Good idea to call – we have found the University to be so helpful whenever we’ve had any questions.

My advisor told me that it wouldn’t affect my registration. In fact, I still have the hold, but I was able to register without any issue. I think your advisor would be the best person to contact, but I don’t think it will affect you. I hardly imagine they’d have different rules for different students. My advisor said it would only be an issue if you still didn’t have the forms in by the 27th.
