<p>Sure - major in whatever you want. In most cases (except some engineering programs) you'll have (1) a language requirement that will typically be 4 semesters and (2) a bunch of other humanities requirements some of which will be fillable by French courses, (3) some number of free electives, and (4) in most places, the opportunity to spend a semester or more in France.</p>
