<p>Is the usc campus safe? </p>
<p>Is columbia safe as well, and is there a lot of crime?</p>
<p>I really want to go to the this school, but if it is a dangerous school, then it will change my perspective of the way I look at this school. If anyone has the answer it will be greatly appreciated, thanks</p>

<p>I think it is as safe as any college. Of course I have heard that many of the students are endanger of getting a degree if they continue going there.</p>
<p>I’ve been here for over a week now and I feel completely safe.</p>
<p>When you get here on campus in the fall, they try to scare you, and basically say “Don’t walk alone at night” “Lock your doors” “Dial 911 if there’s an emergency. If you get Columbia PD, ask for the USC Police.” Etc.</p>
<p>But yeah, I haven’t had a problem at all and I walked back from the Russel House to my dorm on the edge of campus after dark.</p>
<p>On top of that, there were some bad things that happened in Five Points over the summer, so there are cops EVERYWHERE in Columbia right now. They’re all around campus.</p>
<p>Anyways, as long as you realize this is an open campus and are smart (IE: Don’t walk by yourself at 3 AM), then you’ll be fine.</p>
