I looked at practice tests online and it doesn't seem THAT difficult- I mean, the multiple choice. I'm not saying I could ever get a 45, or even a 30 right now (I'm still in high school) but I know that a lot of geniuses go to medical school and it seems strange that not one person has received a perfect score. It seems to me that anyone highly intelligent with a strong science background that was naturally skilled at language is theoretically capable of a 45, which is why it seems strange that it has apparently never happened. It's not like essays, which are subjective- the multiple choice part is right or wrong, so it surprises me that nobody got a 45. Or am I wrong - have people gotten 45s on the MCAT? How about 45T? Also, do you need to get every single question right for a 45?

Very rarely, at least in the past before they standardized the grading system, people supposedly got 45s. I haven’t heard of one in the last few years. You would need to get essentially every question right, but as I said the standardized grading system may make a perfect score only a 44. I’m not sure.

The problem with the MCAT is the fact that you are indeed competing with very smart, very science adept individuals. Since it is graded on a standard curve and the curve is set very high this is what makes it difficult on top of the intrinsic challenge of the exam.

At least one person has scored a 45. From Michigan’s twitter (October 2010)

“Stats for those offered interviews to date (Average/Range) SGPA: 3.8/2.9-4.0 TGPA: 3.8/3.0-4.0 MCAT: 37/25-45”

Kumar, from Harold and Kumar! Best movie ever(:

Lol Kumar is my hero.

Shouldn’t scoring a 45 be everyone’s goal going into the test? :)

Neil Patrick Harris is my hero… Tashawndah, I hope you kept the baby. -sniffles-

LOL Tashawnda was the girl who got branded right?

Nahh, that was NPH’s lost love, Whoopie Goldberg’s backup or something like that. Tits Hemmingway was the one who was branded.

Ahh yess.
It’s been a while, I’ll have to rewatch it.

I know every word to both movies by heart lol… I need to do something with my life, seriously.

will their be a new herald and kumar??
they better make another one!!!

No one has scored a 45. Show me evidence that anyone has.

There will be, “A Harold and Kumar Christmas” comes out on Christmas, of 2011, I think(:

So this is kind of late, but I know of ONE person who has scored a 45. Over the summer I was in a program for prospective pre-meds, and we got to talk to the dean of admissions at UMMC, and he said there was actually one person in the freshman class with a 45…and i’m thinking, uhmm, why is this guy not at harvard?

lol how did this become a threat about harold and kumar

Maybe it was a dream school for that guy who got a perfect score. I think everyone aims for a “perfect” score. I’ve heard that as long as your in the 30+ range with a GPA above a 3.2 you should be fine. Can anyone corroborate this with proof or has heard of anyone that got accepted?

I’m pretty sure Gregory House scored a 45

Hah. Try 3.7+/32+.

My friend’s brother got a 43, and I don’t remember him as being too exceptional (the score does speak otherwise, though) so I think it’s likely SOMEONE has gotten a 45.
