Will the school start allowing more students to participate in these programs when the Little Building closes for renovation.

I have never heard that you can only do one of those programs. And where did you hear that the LB is closing for renovation?

I was told that students would only be accepted into one program or the other. But this was not from an official source. Have you heard differently?

It says nothing here about the Little Building closing for renovation. That is where the Dining Hall is located and the largest number of freshman students. I would be very surprised if they closed it since they guarantee housing for the first 2 years.

My student is a freshman at Emerson and I have talked to a number of parents who have students who have done both the Kasteel Well program and the LA program. I have never heard from administration, nor has my daughter, that there is any restriction about applying for both. Hope that helps!

I stand corrected. Someone on the Emerson parent FB page just referred me to this article about how they will deal with housing and dining during the LB renovation. <a href=“Graduate & Undergraduate Programs, Emerson College”>http://www.emerson.edu/about-emerson/administration/president/speeches-remarks/emersons-renovation-construction-projects

My daughter’s #1 choice is Emerson…by far. I am really concerned reading about the major construction that will be going on her entire 4 years. Do you feel that the construction will be tremendously disruptive?

Emerson is also my daughter’s first choice at this point. I don’t think it will be too disruptive in the first two years because nothing about the current campus will change. Except there will probably be times when the Boylston Place “alley” will be closed and they will have to walk around the corner to get into some buildings. But that’s always going to be an issue with a city campus, there will always be construction to contend with.

I think there is no doubt that it will be very disruptive to the students who enter Emerson two years from now when the Little Building closes.

Since I’m hoping my daughter has a chance to do both the Netherlands program and the LA program, that would be a total of one year away from the Boston construction. I wish she could do the Netherlands program in her Junior year given the timing of the Little Bldg closing but it is what it is I guess.

My niece, a 2014 graduate of Emerson, did both the Netherlands and LA programs.
