My anthro teacher gave us the reading assignment calendar for the entire semester, but even though I’m pretty relaxed now but will probably be a lot busier towards the middle or end of the semester, I’m making sure I do NOT read ahead, b/c I’m afraid that I’ll just be rushing through the reading/not put enough focus due to reading two chapters in a row instead of just one chapter and because, like you said, I might forget something. Back in high school (mostly freshman year), I sometimes tried to get ahead on math assignments, and my classmates would be impressed that I went to class every day with tonight and tomorrow night’s homework already done, but it always ended up taking a lot longer than it would have had I waited to listen to the teacher’s lecture, and I always had to go back and redo homework problems just to make sure I did not forget the concepts. That being said, I would not recommend making a habit of doing homework early. I mean, if you have nothing to do today and know you’ll be out all day tomorrow, then I guess you could do both today and tomorrow’s homework today, but don’t do like a week’s worth of hw, and don’t make a regular habit out of it.
