I’m finishing my first semester as a freshman and feel that at this commuter school it’s hard to network, make friends, get a college experience overall. So I figure I should just go to a CC and transfer to a UC or even CSULB OR SDSU. But in my situation it’s difficult to decide because I know people grind to just get where I’m at. I’m undeclared and think I want to be somewhere in the Medical field as a Occupation Therapist or Registered nurse. I figured I’d be more like to find a job with a UC degree or does it not matter? But another part of me thinks I should just stay and hopefully wait it out but would that be playing it safe and not taking a chance? I just want to make sure I find a job as well as make the most of this next chapter of my life and find what I want to do. I’m commuting from home to a commuter school so please advise me in any way as I feel lost at times.
Fullerton is known for being a commuter school.
Students go there, take classes and go to work, home, and labs.
You are a freshman so you are taking your GE classes. You will make more connections in your junior and senior years.
Not much will change if you transfer to another CSU except possibly having to dorm where you’ll meet more people, but, it will cost you.
Transferring to a UC will be similar but only so many UCs have nursing: LA, Irvine and Davis.
It doesn’t matter where you go to school. No one says, “oh well you went to Fullerton, so we can’t hire you”
Your degree and internship matter.
