Is it worth it to take BOTH the SAT and ACT? Or just one test is fine?

My question is pretty self-explanatory.

I'm applying to all UC's, plus private universities. I don't desire a state school~. But crossing my fingers i'll get into a UC. <3

I almost went to Osaka. Then we decided that Hakone was better.

I juts took the ACT. And Subject Tests.

Planning on taking SAT and maybe some subject tests.

LOL I have such a nice host family there. Osaka is such a cute city, i’ve got to admit. The neighborhood I stayed in was so peaceful~. <3.

Hakone? How was that? O:

The Reading portion is way too long on the ACT, i’d get so tired doing that. >_>

Hm, a lot of my friends are just taking one. I’m currently still undecided about this.

Take both! Some do better on one than the other.

So you guys are just taking one hm? After hearing insight, maybe I should really think about weather it is worth it.

My schedule was filled up, so I really didn’t look into studying them a lot /:

My daughter took both. Some students do better on one that the other, and you can’t really tell until you take it…

Depending on what type of schools you intend to apply to, you also may need to take some SAT Subject Tests as well. The school web site admissions page can tell you whether they are needed.

DO NOT take both. Instead, take an ACT practice test and then an SAT practice test to see which one you do better on/which one you like more. Then prepare for that test. Unless you have a surplus (which you already stated you don’t), studying for both would be a waste. Just focus on one and do your best on that test. Best of luck!

Remember this: The more positive information you can supply about yourself–the better.

I would say take both. I did way better on the ACT than I did on the SAT
