Although I was accepted to some of the colleges I applied to, financial circumstances are getting in my way and I’m not sure if I can afford some of those colleges. I was really considering CC, but I didn’t want to go to my local community college because I really want to leave my current city for personal reasons. One of my main goals with college was to leave my city no matter what!!
I was planning on attending SBCC (Santa Barbara CC) if I were to go to a CC farther away, but I’m really devastated because housing is still expensive and I’d still almost be spending as much as I would if I were to go to a state college for housing.
I read that SBCC has a good TAG/transfer program, and I am also really attracted to the location. I do have plans on transferring to a 4-year if I meet the minimum requirements. The 4-years that I will apply to will be ones that will help me get into the grad school that I want.
But I’m stuck on the fact that housing is expensive – is it worth moving farther away for a CC and then still paying 14k a year for housing?
