Hello! So I took the SAT test in january and I got a 2090 (630 CR, 660 W (8 essay), and 800 M). I'm taking it one more time on october before college applications. I have a local SAT prep class that's very popular and efficient, but it costs ~$2000 for 8 weeks of summer classes. It's basically 8 tests, one test in the beginning of the week and the rest of the week is test review. However it seems like all I am getting out of the class would be essay grading and critical reading strategies, although they are two things I really need to work on. My two big issues is CR in general and the essay. They do give a lot of practice problems outside of the tests though. I did do almost all of the practice tests in the blue book but I think I could retake them since I've probably forgotten most of it. My goal is to get 2250 or at least 2200 on the october test. I'm fairly self-motivated to work the entire summer. My question is that do you guys think it is worth it based on its price?

How many hours are you talking about? Is it one on one or a group setting? These are important questions. You need to concentrate on more your essay writing and your Critical Reading and less on your Math. A group session will not do that for you, a one-to-one might, depending on the tutor you are working with.

It’s a group setting, about 5 hours a day Monday-Thursday, Monday being the testing day

I don’t like group settings for someone like you. You will spend an inordinate amount of time covering material you already know, unless it is a group strictly for students with 2000s looking to get to the 2200-2400 level and that would not be a very big group. You run the risk of wasting 10-12 hours per week. You would be much better served, I believe, by finding an individual tutor that specializes in the reading and writing sections. It will be cheaper in the long run, more focused on your needs and take up much less of your time

DON’T TAKE THE CLASS!
I got a 1920 and took the class and it put me to sleep. The class is mostly students trying to learn how to PASS the SAT, not do better. It’s not worth the money for someone with such a high score. Self study with a book…you’ll learn a lot more!

With your SAT score 2090 (630 CR, 660 W and 800 M) you do not need SAT prep class, just do practice tests and review by yourself

Don’t take bro… waste of time, waste of money…
Spend your money on sth more productive… throw a party?
ehem… joke… (do invite me if you do though alrights? :))

Hm okay thanks for all your input guys! I think I’ve decided not to, simply because its not worth the money and time. I have a lot of sat prep books already so i can put those to good use
