<p>Personally, i have heard of JHU but never Emory, before my college search.</p>
<p>it’s kind of funny how you cant mention “johns hopkins” and “prestige” on CC without someone talking about the medical school…</p>
<p>yes, the university is prestigous. yes, in academia the university is very well-known - even if the layman may only know of the hospital or med school. </p>
<p>johns hopkins is regarded as a top research university (not just limited to science/medicine) on a national and international scale with world-class music (peabody), liberal arts (humanities as well as science), and engineering programs.</p>
<p>I think Hopkins wins on the international perspective - overseas it’s very well known. Around the world, Hopkins is known as one of the top institutions based on world rankings and the systems used in the UK. It’s top 20 in all global rankings.</p>
