Is Johns Hopkins Uni considered prestigious?

Prestigious as in in-competition with some of the lower ivies such as Brown or Cornell?
Is it respected...would you be excited if you got in?
I am interested in International Studies and I heard that JHU has the top program for it.

Does a ten pound bag of flower make a really big biscuit?

i am just asking!

Yes it is. There are most well known for their medical school and the fields that support it (biochemistry, biology, genetics, biomedical engineering, etc.) There are many qualified faculty members who are leaders in their field. If you attend that institution, you will be given access to a veritable treasure trove of intellectual resources.

Is that your goal, however, in attending Johns Hopkins? Or are you more interested in how that name will sound at a dinner party? I’m not implying anything or judging you, but that was the question that I had to ask myself when making a decision about college. I found that for myself, the latter was true for a few of the schools I had applied to.

It’s ranked 13 out of national universities on USNWR, if that should give you any indication. It’s right above Brown and Cornell on the rankings. Now obviously you should generally not take rankings only into consideration, but that should give you an idea of the overall prestige of the school.

If you don’t know the basic knowledge that freakin’ JOHN HOPKINS is prestigious, then i don’t think you have a chance of getting in.

j/k

Use Google, it’s your friend.

Yes, the school is very elite. Its pre-med and medical programs are the best in the country. And getting an M.D. there is highly prestigious.

I have to agree with Daxlo5 here. Some questions just shouldn’t be asked when a tool like Google exists.

But yes, it is very prestigious especially when it comes to the med field.
