My friend said he has already been accepted to Lehigh but didn't apply ed. Did Lehigh mail their acceptances out already?

Yeah.
Waitlisted. It's total crap, I'm sour, lol.
I guess I didn't show any "demonstrated interest"

****tttt. you think by me not getting a letter yet that it's a rejection? lol

They have to tell you the admission decision. Even I who was rejected at Lehigh received an email telling me about my rejection. Im international -so thats why i got the email.

well i hope i get accepted. i put in a lot of interest into it

Yep! I'm in :) demonstrated interest seems pretty important, though I didn't demonstrate much interest...

justbumming, congrats!

but do you think that they sent out acceptances and waitlists first?

No, my friend was rejected. We live in PA. :P (I guess we're pretty close to Lehigh, so that might be a factor)

i live in jersey and am a half hour away from lehigh

Well either way, good luck!

thanks! hopefully i get in

Good luck! I don't think they sent them out in chunks. You can find out now though by looking at this website (it seems to have worked so far)

LDAP Query

if you type in your last name in the middle box, and something comes up with an email address, it seems to mean you're in, and if nothing comes up, it probably means a waitlist or rejection. It worked on everyone so far on the Lehigh board, but there might be exceptions? Good luck!

lolol oh well that didn't work for me. guess i got rejected or waitlisted. do you guys know if that works for any other schools like northwestern or georgetown

No benstone, it's solely a lehigh website. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, maybe you'll be the exception! I wouldn't totally depend on it, though it has seemed to work for most everyone so far :/

oh well my parents don't wanna pay for lehigh anyway. they'll only pay for georgetown since my brother went there

I got in as well! I'm kinda surprised though. Actually... I'm really surprised that I got in.

Congratulations on being accepted! I'm wondering why you are "surprised" at getting in? Stats, please?

My son is a junior in h.s. w/B average in mostly Honors classes - will take 3 APs next year - Varsity golf and crew - President of Latin Club - 1300 SATs (700M/600CR).

White male from MA.

Do you think he'd have a shot?

Why am I surprised?

I got in with an 1140 SAT score.

My Secondary School report is decent though. I have a 4.2W GPA, and I ranked 4/160 students. I took 6 APs during my HS years. I accomplished quite a bit. I'm an Eagle Scout, mixed intramural athletics, participated in many clubs with a a lot of leadership positions in them, quite a bit of volunteer work, etc.

Your son has good SAT scores. The APs and Honor Classes are really good too. Lehigh seems to care a lot about recommendation letters and the rigor of one's secondary school record. I wish your son luck!

myoneandonly:

Here's a bit of info. that you may find interesting and want to store away in case your son applies to Lehigh. I applied to Lehigh with these stats:

3.7 gpa uw
1440 SATS (2410 with writing)
ranked 9/420
great recs
Good ECs, volunteer work, etc
7 APs
..you get the picture

And, I was wait-listed. I visited Lehigh and interviewed there as well. I received two emails from Lehigh. One was to tell me how much the Admissions person enjoyed reading my essay. And, the 2nd email was from the Assistant Dean of the Business school "suggesting" I send her more info. about one of my non-conventional ECs and how it related to business. I ignored both emails because Lehigh was way down on my list.

So, my advice to you is if your son wants to go to Lehigh, show lots of interest and respond to any/all emails he receives.

In the end, Lehigh's admin folks probably made a wise decision by wait-listing me. They could tell I wasn't really interested in their school.

But, its all good because I got accepted to Cornell and I'm waiting to hear from other top LACs (whose email I would have definitley repsonded to if they had sent it to me).

Correction:

My total SAT score was 2140, not 2410 :-)
