I've been accepted to Macalester early notification, it's still RD but they just gave me an early notice. I'm not much aware of the school, to be honest, I just applied... They are offering me some scholarships too so I am starting to consider it but I do not have much info on mac. Would it be a good choice, considering that I want to work in foreign service and goto grad school?

Macalester prides itself in its international focus, and I would say that it has a very strong international program. The major is called International Studies, rather than International Relations, and my impression of the program when I looked at Mac was that it was a lot more extensive than many other schools that I was looking at.

Are you a DeWitt Wallace Scholar, by any chance? I didn’t end up attending Mac but if you PM me I can send you some more information on it.

Macalester College is an excellent liberal arts school with a decided emphasis on international studies. A larger-than-usual percent of its students are internationals. Cool fact: Kofi Annan (former UN Secretary General) was an alum.

Without knowing what your other choices are, it’s difficult to say if Mac is the best, but it’s certainly very very good.

Intl Studies is what Mac is known for.

bump bump bump bump

The perfect choice for your interest!
