is March SAT test harder?

I know this question has been asked many times, I went thru all threads (including the big one on this subject) and general agreement is that all dates are equal. But I am still confused since many people do say that march/april sat is hardest,

It seems very unfair if indeed certain dates are better for test taking i.e. test is easier sometimes and hard at other times.

Any comments from folks who have tried multiple dates?

Thanks.

interested as well…

All test dates are equal…

Some tests are harder than others, but they’re all curved so that you’ll end up getting a similar on every test no matter how hard it is.

^Not really. October 2010 SAT had -3 and 730 for Math which is pretty harsh and not similar to other test curves in different months. Usually -3 in other months is at least 750.

That’s true, but I didn’t say the curves were the same. Easier tests have harsher curves than harder tests, which have easier curves.

If anything the March test should be the easiest because no seniors would be doing it since applications are due in january…thus your ability to outperform the rest would be better?

The curves are more or less predetermined using the experimental section data. No specific test date is harder than the other; harder questions=easier curve. The beauty of the SAT is that the scores across different testing dates give a pretty consistent indication of ability.
