Hey guys, I'm getting ready to send in my online application and I was wondering...do you think 562 words for my personal statement is too long? Also, Northwestern doesn't offer an "applicaton preview" like lots of other online apps I have done. Does anybody know, if I go over the word limit on the essays or short statements, are the answers truncated on my application?

It won't let me click the print preview until I complete all sections, and after they're completed you cannot go back and make changes, correct? In that case, the print preview is really stupid....

Ohh....I was under the impression that like the Part 1, Part 2 could no be edited after pressing the "complete" button, but I just realized that it could be edited. My essay does fit on the print preview, it is just transferred to an additional page at the end of the application, but that doesn't bother me. Northwestern's online app is really really annoying and confusing, with the "complete" and "save" different for all sections. They really should improve it.

Actually, Northwestern's online app. was the easiest one for me to understand out of the ones that I completed this year. I thought that it was set up pretty well (mostly, at least - everything except the "complete this first" stuff).

Yeah I agree. Mostly the setup is clear and not cluttered, but the "completing" stuff was very confusing. I have a beef with mostly all online apps I have done; Columbia's doesn't have continuous lines for their essays, so you have to go to the next line manually and it's hard to line everything up. NYU's cuts off all your personal statements even if you don't fill up the lines. Penn's doesn't give you enough room for extracurriculars. But that's just me!
