<p>My essay is 750 words and I don't know if I can shorten it any more. As far as the common application goes, does it look really bad to admissions if you go over the 500 word limit?</p>
<p>There's no limit this year; your essay length is fine, but you if you go anywhere near 1000 words, I'd consider cutting it.</p>
