Is my financial aid pkg. renewable??

I received a fair offer from one of my colleges and someone asked me if it was renewable or if they were just going to offer it for the first year or 2 and then I'd be on my own. I was somewhat confused.....it's not a scholarship I received, they met my need according to my EFC.

I realize that every year I will have to fill out new FAFSA forms and my EFC is subject to change but if a student maintains good grades, behavior,etc..., would it be likely that a university would not offer a similar pkg. the following years? I'd hate to think that they just give you a good fin. aid package the first year just to get you in and then they bale on you. If they did, I'd have to leave their school.

Any thoughts or experience with 2nd, 3rd, year financial aid offers greatly appreciated!!!

If your family income stays about the same it should be around the same package but you'll need to check out a few things.
the first is to look at the financial aid information about this college and read about the aid for freshmen and then aid for all undergraduates. If there is a difference in the percentage of students getting aid as upperclassmen it is possible they meet less need once you are there for a year. Most schools do not do this but some will.
The other thing to do is call the financial aid office and ask them ..if my family EFC stays the same do you pretty much renew it at the same rate.
The Stafford loan is a base most use and that will go up each year as you can borrow more as an upperclassman.

Definitely check with your school(s) as the aid packages may indeed vary from one year to the next, even if EFC stays the same.
