Hi, first time posting and I'd really appreciate it you guys can help me out! I'm a rising senior at a public high school and my schedule for next year is as follows:
Syracuse University Project Advance English
Academy of Finance (mandatory)
Health (mandatory)
Physics Honors
AP Calc AB
5IB Italian
AP Comparative Politics

I have one more open elective spot and I don't know if I should take: AP Stats, IB Theatre SL, or AP US Govt./Politics. Unfortunately, my schedule does not allow for me to take a second science. :(
If it helps, I want to be a doctor and I'm looking at selective LACs (Brown, Carleton, Ursinus, Reed, etc.)
I love all the subjects equally and I can't choose! Although, I've heard Stats is easiest, then Theatre, then US Govt./Politics.

Instead of trying to guess what adcoms might (or might not) consider important, I recommend you take the course(s) that appeal most to you. Follow your passions and don’t worry about arbitrary decisions. If you truly love all the subjects equally, then consider your opinion of each teacher, or which classes your friends are taking, or some other objective criteria. If nothing else, take Statistics since that will be good to have some background for medical school.

The more selective the college, the more important it is to take a significant number of the most advanced courses your HS offers. For most colleges you don’t need to take EVERY AP course offered, but if your HS offers AP Physics and you take Honors, be SURE to earn an A if you want to maximize your chances of admission. But there are few hard and fast rules.

You should take the class that interests you the most. This will help you get the highest grade you can rather than sitting through a really boring class that you struggle to pay attention in

Thanks everyone for the help! vonlost, I wish I could take AP Physics, but the administration doesn’t allow AP Physics to be taken alongside AP Calc AB without previously having taken Physics Honors. I think that’s wrong, as I got all As in 11th grade calculus and have the permission from my 11th grade science teacher. However, that’s the way the cookie crumbles. I tried to fight it, but it’s just not my school’s policy. Hence, why I want to challenge myself with another AP class.
I think I’m gonna go for IB Theats, as all my friends are in it. Having talked to past seniors, AP Stats is mostly people who are just playing calculus-dodge; the class panders to slackers. AP US Gov still looks very interesting, but it’s a lot of notes, and AP Comparative is already a ton of notes. The AP Comp teacher goes above and beyond the AP test, apparently.
Aah, senior year! And I thought junior year was stressful!
