I already completed my foreign language requirements and my school only allows sophomores to take Euro or Human Geography, both of which I’ve heard don’t have good teachers and am worried to take.
I could perhaps take Computer Science. I find that very interesting. Or maybe something like guitar.
Take AP Bio and AP Chem together, or take AP Bio and AP Physics 1 together. Don’t take Chem and Physics at the same time, and certainly don’t lump together all three. You will literally die.
You don’t have a social studies class on your schedule, so I would agree that you should take Euro. It’s a lot of memorization and note taking, but the subject matter is very interesting and it’s not so complicated that you’ll have trouble with it - especially because you’ve already taken AP World (the structure is very very similar).
IMO, if you were looking at different schools I’d tell you that you need to take more foreign language, but for tech schools and FL state schools (assuming you’re going into engineering or something similar), 3 years is probably OK as long as the rest of your application is strong. (The latter I know from experience; I’m a FL student, most kids at my school drop language after 3 years, and the majority of the ones with 4.0s and good ECs get into their choice of FL state schools anyway.)
I’m going to disagree. Don’t take AP Bio and AP Chem in the same year. In addition to the time commitment required by virtue of being AP’s, each requires a lot of time for labs and lab reports. For many schools, these classes are either double-periods, or require additional time before/after school. Maybe you are the 1% of the 1% who can handle these 2 together without your grades tanking, but that’s something for you and your GC to confirm.
Regardless, don’t take 3 AP sciences at the expense of a core subject. At most, take AP Physics 1 (I’m assuming this is what you mean, since you need calculus for AP Physics C) and either AP Bio or AP Chem. But definitely ass a history/social science class.
As a sophomore, take AP Physics 1 and if you wish to double up in science, some sort of honors science or APES. Your plan is sheer madness - AP Chem is a senior class and one of the hardest AP classes, period. Just that one class is going to require a lot of diligence, work, sheer intelligence, and time (think of the labs!)
You do need to take a social science class but it doesn’t have to be AP. If you live in Florida, an AICE class would be fine.
Bruh. ap physics was hard enough for me. I took honors bio freshman year and it was so much work. And a lot of the chem students at my school complain about how hard it is and how it makes no sense.
I literally cannot imagine these three combined and in addition to ap stat.
I can’t.
But I guess if you’re like some students at my school who take ap physics and chem together, then go right on ahead.
