Is NMU good enough?

My family and I visited Northern Michigan and I really loved the location on lake superior and the dorms, food, buildings, campus, etc. were super nice. But I'm a little worried that it isn't selective enough and I won't be surrounded by a good studying environment. I'm not a huge partier and I get decent grades 3. 87 gpa, 1240 Sat, many ec's. It sounds like all people do is drink there. But it is a great deal financially, plus free laptop. any thoughts?

personally, i never heard of it. if you are going to grad school/or think its a good fit you should go...

I don't know any NMU students, but the administrators I've met from NMU seem like very upstanding people.

NMU is like a lot of state schools, only more so--despite not seeming that selective, they DO get some good students. And given where it is located, it gets a hefty share of fine Michigan students who don't want to go all the way to Ann Arbor.

I'll bet you can find your niche among the other serious students. Not everyone drinks.

bump......
