Thanks all. WUSTL is not option s financially. Purdue probably isn’t either with OOS tuition. Miami OH is a good suggestion and I’ll take a closer look. Good merit aid opportunities there in particular. Son was very interested in co-op after attending a NWU presentation, so that’s why there’s interest in other schools that emphasize it. Many schools offer it but I think a few promote it better and do a better job of getting placement, but that’s just my impression. NWU for example said they like students to start thinking about co-op their freshman year. I understand “fit” which will take a while for son to figure out. That’s why I’m looking for insights rather than recommendations. These might come from someone with first hand knowledge. Guess I’ll visit the forums for specific schools. With luck we can make some visits too.
I did an internship at NC State Computer Science and the Engineering Campus (where I worked) was amazing! There are so many resources and opportunities there. You should strongly consider it. Really good engineering program, innovative campus, and opportunities for REUs. @transferguy619
Yes, it is an amazing engineering school. However, it is very competitive. It isn’t exactly a cakewalk to receive admission from their engineering school. If you have the grades and everything and you get in, definitely go or at least consider it.
How is their computer science department?
