Is Peterson a accurate prepbook for ACT?? Specifically for the reading and science section?
Not at all.
@mmk2015 In terms of it being harder than the real one?
The formatting, question patterns, how the questions are asked, how the answers are given… none of it imitates the real test too well.
Use real tests to prepare, preferably the more current years like 2015 to 2018. You can find a bunch of them online by Googling.
I’ve heard Peterson’s, Princeton Review, and Barron’s aren’t that great at imitating the ways the ACT tries to trick you.
Personally, I highly recommend getting the official ACT prep books, as well as the ACT Black Book. The Black Book has helped me figure out a few new ways to approach the test, and my score on Reading went from a 29 to a 33! It has to be used in conjunction with an official ACT prep guide, however- the regular Black Book has to be used with The Real ACT Prep Guide, 3rd Edition, whereas the newer Black Book must be used with the 2018-2019 Official ACT Prep Guide.
Because the ACT structure hasn’t changed drastically like the SAT, you can still use older materials to prep for it. I have a secondhand copy of the 3rd Edition ACT Guide, and the old version of the Black Book, which cost under $15 together to get. They’re both really helpful for me, and a lot of others, from what I’ve seen.
not sure but cannot judge it
