<p>You may not know this, but Philly actually was one of the 5 cities (along with Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco) actively competing to be the American city bidding for the 2016 Olympics:</p>

<p>That demonstrates how high the city has set its sights in terms of its place in the world. Who knows? We still might see a Philly Olympics some day.</p>

<p>I think it would be possible to see a Philadelphia Olympics (Phillymics?) in my lifetime.</p>
