Is prestige of undergraduate school important in medical school admissions?

I'm a senior in high school trying to choose a college. I'm pretty set on going to Medical School and I want to know if the caliber of my undergraduate would make a difference in admissions.

I'm trying to decide between UC Berkeley and University of Kentucky. UCB is a very prestigious school but I do not know if I will get higher than a 3.4 GPA because it is extremely competitive.

On the other hand, I got accepted to the Honors program at Kentucky with a great scholarship. I think I could get around a 3.8-3.9 at Kentucky, considering that being in the Honors program gives me access to more opportunities.

Would top tier medical schools look down on me for coming from a non-prestigious undergraduate school? Or would the significantly better GPA going to UK make up for it?

Hum… Are you sure you can just back out? You better check the contractual agreement. You might owe money if you transfer to another med school because you took up a spot in a specific MD program.
