Is Princeton now the most selective college in the world?

schwab, You guess, you make mistakes, you attack, yet fail to give apology for your errors etc., etc. Something tells me that even if I show you that your Yale numbers are wrong, you would still not apologize. Your not worth the effort. (talk about giving P a bad rep!) Act like a man!

P.S. Where did I claim to have graduated from P? or is that another wild guess?

The fact that you are being the Princeton version of Byerly makes it easy to assume that you are somehow connected to it.

Seriously. Stop. For the sake of all of us future Princeton undergrads, because you are honestly making us look horrible.

Aren't you the one who incorrectly guessed that Princeton had the most applicants per seat? And then said the word "apparently" covered your backside when you were proven wrong?

Post 79: I tell you that your statement is dead wrong and show that Yale has the most applicants per seat.

Post 81: I admit I undercut their class sizes and give the school's sites for new numbers. The revised numbers still have Yale as number one.

Post 82: I give an alternate source, which, after dividing by 4, gives a rough estimate of the class sizes. These numbers yet again have Yale as number one.

Post 85: You delibrately leave out Yale in your calculations for most applicants per seat.

Post 87: I show that Yale has the most applicants per seat, using the *highest * number of slots of any of my sources.

Post 88: You lie and said that I quoted Harvard as the "lead school"

Post 99: You state that I "blasted you" for using wrong numbers. I did no such thing.

Too bad. That is your only recourse.

You have to disprove my assertion that Yale has the most applicants per seat this year for an apology.

PERIOD.

I seriously doubt you can, however.

I never said you claimed to have graduated. I actually stated that you COULDN'T HAVE graduated from Princeton, due to your numerous misspellings and atrocious use of grammar.

If you read correctly, I asked why, if you didn't even go to Princeton, you continue to basically post messages which come down to 'Princeton is the greatest in the world!!!!!!!'

So, alphacdcd, why do you?
Because seriously, as prettyfish said, your Byerly impression absolutely SUCKS.

look at your ORIGINAL POST to my initial claim. YOU declared H #1. Wrong!
All your Assumptions were wrong!
BE A MAN!

Stop guessing. Stop whining. Do your homework!

Be a man.

Stop screaming at each other.

Thanks. If you haven't noticed, threads get killed for a reason.

let's see, to answer Alphacdcd's orginal question:

NO, Princeton is NOT the most selective college in the world.

End of story.

I don't want to hear any complaints about how it is not fair that IIT is more statistically selective than Princeton. To compare IIT vs. Princeton is like comparing apples and oranges... it is impossible: different applicant pool, different admissions requirements and values, different education background and standards.

Amendment to my post on name stopping power of schools:

Princeton: (Wow, you go to Princeton? What exit is that?)

Schwaby-Thanks for showing me that the (few) Princeton kids I know aren't representative of the whole.

Alphacdcd is no longer a half-cocked Princeton enthusiast, he (/she) is a full blown troll. Logic no longer means anything to him (/her).

"I don't think there are any international students apply to IIT at all. Ivies, MIT, Cal-tech, UCB, Standford still much
better than "IIT"."

You are totally and utterly wrong with your comment, IIT has THOUSANDS of international applicants, it IS most def. the world's selective college, there's absolutely no "bull" if i may say colloquially in terms of community service, sports, etc, its just plain intelligence of the brain in terms of engineering & science through 1 exam, IIT does not give one ***** about marketing, it hasn't had any commercials, or any type of advertising or catalyzing marks in order to make people take their exam or want to come to their college, IIT is popular by the world by word. lol you are so wrong about "still much better," that's just arrogant...and there was a comprehensive show on IIT several months ago on 60 min in which a comment made on Bill Gates' son who was rejected by IIT..lol any american uni. tries that to Bill Gates' son, o baby now that wud be the day..

xindianx-As far as I know, Gates only has a daughter, and she's far too young for college. I'm not sure what you're talking about with his son being rejected by IIT.

EDIT: I was wrong, but Gates' son is only 5-6 years old. http://www.microsoftusernetwork.com/bgfn/bios.htm

Yes, thats about how long ago Bill Gates was married. Does anyone know if their are any Americans at IIT? Does the school have a significant non-Indian population? If so, where from?

Note that I put Yale FIRST. Note that I show that it has the highest Applicant per seat ratio. Note that I did not put Harvard number 1.

So are you ever going to prove to me wrong or what?
Disprove my assertion that Yale has the most applicants per seat this year and you receive an apology.

Otherwise, shut it and let this thread die, like it should have a long time ago.

Your slot counts at all 3 schools were wrong. I corrected H & P and told you to look at Y. Because you have wimped out on me and refused to acknowledge your errors (instead referring to margin of error) I have, as you may have noticed, tried to keep my correspondence with you to a minimum. Because people like you just go on and on and on. Their called bags of wind.
Do your homework. Be a MAN!

P.S. The thread has 2,600+ viewings. Despite your claims, the subject has generated interest, as I originally thought it would. My original question had to do with selectivity. I understand now that IIT may be the most selective school in the world. Hence, the thread I started yesterday on that very topic. I agree it is time to move on.

Once again,

Are you ever going to prove me wrong or what?
Disprove my assertion that Yale has the most applicants per seat this year and you receive an apology.

Post 81. I state that I undercut their classes and give 2 sets of revised numbers.

Yale still wins. Disprove it or shut it.

Oh, so now I am trolling on my own thread. LOL. Go away. Be a MAN!
Do your homework!

Good. You'll probably never acknowledge that your assertion was incorrect, but I guess this will suffice.

Please don't troll on my (selectivity) IIT thread. No bags of wind allowed.

P.S. Anyone who ventures over to the Yale profile will see your slot count is incorrect. The number you quoted alone tells the story.

"One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument."

This definition fits you quite well.

"One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks/b with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, **which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue."

I back my arguments up with links and facts.
You call me a windbag and challenge my manhood, all the while ignoring my requests for you to prove me wrong.

And I doubt you ever will.
