Is Princeton now the most selective college in the world?

"I could not "prove" this in the way you would accept "

Mensa, i do not intend to flame you in anyway. i'm just saying be careful when you make statements without being able to back them up, because a lot of posters here on CC want to see the hard facts before they believe something. just advice for the future.

ok im done

"My schools more selective than yours."

Wow...are you people even mature enough to attend college?

No problem kfc4u, and I see yr point.
I can be clearer about when I am speculating from limited data and my personal observations because I do not want to mislead kids. Thank you fr the idea,

o wow, my bad, i was quite certain that on the 60 min program they mentioned Bill Gates' son being rejected by IIT, maybe it was another close family member of his, sorry my apologies.

can someone tell me what trolling is?

slipstream: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll%5B/url%5D">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll</a>
<a href="http://www.urban75.com/Mag/troll.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.urban75.com/Mag/troll.html</a></p>

in short "troll v.,n. To utter a posting on Usenet designed to attract predictable responses or flames. Derives from the phrase "trolling for newbies"; which in turn comes from mainstream "trolling";, a style of fishing in which one trails bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. "

Well, my school - Hikkifan University - only accepts one person - me! And to apply, all you have to do is be alive. So 6 billion people have applied and only one has gotten in so far. Boo ya HYPMS and all other ivies and IIT!

lol. To inform you about IITs...3500 get in out of 200,000. But, only the top 500 get into the best of the IITS. IIT stands stands for "Indian Institute of Tech." and has 6 different campuses in various cities in the country. Everyone wants to get to IIT Bombay because it has the best infrastructure etc. and has some world class ed. IIT bombay accepts about 400-500 students per year - the top 500 from the 200,000. That lowers the acceptance rate for IIT Bombay to 0.25%. It's insane. I personally don't think an IIT ed. is worth that much of trouble (ie. studying for 6 years). To have a chance, the brightest of students from the country and across countries in Asia study on avg. 18 hours a day nearing exam time. They skip school, do anything, just to get those hours. Its not worth it. In my opinion, a Pton ed. is worth much more even though it has a higher acceptance rate. After all, what does getting into IIT make a person? Just a good test taker. The same person will be earning 60 K to 80 K after graduating, less than or equal to an MIT grad. I know several IIT bombay grads who are as poor as churchmice. Success in life is not dependent on a school's selectivity.

lol. "poor as churchmice" - haven't heard that phrase in a while. It makes me smile. How I wish we spoke English the way it used to be spoken...

who are you people and don't you have lives?

Do you people enjoy making it harder to get into college? It sure seems like it…
