Is SAT important for transfers?

<p>Hi, I will be an international freshman in a NY college these fall. I didn't have time to prepare SAT, but I really like midwestern LACs. I plan to transfer to Grinnell in my sophomore year.</p>

<p>Shoul I take SAT in my freshman year?Is it important for transfers? My friend(transfer from UMN to Carleton)told me that NO SAT, NO CHANCE...really?</p>

<p>PS: Is it easier to transfer from a more selective( in the same level with Grinnell) but lowly regarded(a SUNY college) or a #60 LAC?</p>
