Is Sophie Davis worth it?

Hi, I am a high school senior STRUGGLING with making my college decision due at the end of this month. I was recently accepted into the CCNY Sophie Davis program and was wondering if someone could answer some of my questions.

I understand that Sophie Davis is primarily targeted for primary care, but what if I wanted to specialize or become a surgeon? would this be possible? I was reading some old threads and wanted to know if it is true that you have to pay a 75k fee if you choose not to do primary care. I honestly dont feel like I would be content doing primary care. I know Sophie Davis is a great opportunity (esp in my parents eyes) but I feel like I would miss out on a college experience, such as studying abroad and exploring other fields rather than have a tailored curriculum at Sophie.
If I choose not to go to Sophie Davis, I feel like I could eventually regret not taking a more direct path towards acheiving my goal, however I really want to explore more of myself. I have a big scholarship at some other good colleges, so the point that Sophie is much cheaper wouldn’t exactly apply for me (until later w med school i guess). I also got into Macaulay Honors but if I go to CCNY, it would be for Sophie.

Anyways, if anyone could provide some insight/ advice or facts i would greatly appreciate it!

there is no more contract that requires you to work in primary care; you can specialize in whatever you want

hey I’m in the same boat! I’m struggling to make my decision because it’s an amazing opportunity but not sure if I’ll miss out on the college experience. I’ll be at the reception today. My name is Rebecca I’m on the Sophie Facebook page for the accepted students so you can message me if you wanna talk or meet up

If you go to another college, will you be guaranteed admission to medical school?

if you don’t mind me asking @ccollegecon , where did you decide to commit?
