The gas price is about the same, i suppose. If i take a car, i really don't want to drive other people around... (don't want to pay for gas) Is there a campus bus or anything, btw?

Your friends will probably help you out with gas money, if they're good friends.

You can go around LA using public transportation - it is very cheap besides. My cousin who lives in Long Beach without a car takes the blue line all the way to downtown LA. Not too many people take public transportation, that is the downfall of LA in my opinion - using too many cars creates pollution and smog. It could be because the signs are so bad and where to wait for the bus is confusing.
My son took the bus from USC to LAX (airport) and then back again which would have been easy and taken less than 45 minutes for about $3.00 took him more than an hour because he was waiting first on the wrong side of the street and 2nd was waiting in the wrong spot and the bus passed him by even though he waved. For an adventurous person, the transportation is fine, LA even has a website where you punch in your start and finish destinations where they tell you what bus, metro to take and how much it costs.
