I want to major in computer science and go into a career within that field. I do enjoy computer science, but I consider it something I have to do. After looking through some of the other programs and courses offered at the university, I was wondering if I would be able to take them as well. For example, I've really become interested in animation. Although I do not necessarily plan to get into a career with animation, I would like to take a few classes just for my own satisfaction. The certificate is a year long program consisting of only a few classes. They also offer piano classes for complete beginners (that is not a major or minor) that I am interested in taking because I have been wanting to learn to play the piano for quite a while.

Would taking extra programs like this be possible, or would it just take too much time? Will I still be able to have a social life? I've been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA at high school while taking extra curricular activities, but I'm not so sure how hard a computer science major really is. Any advice would be great.
