Is taking AP Calc AB starting tomorrow viable for me?

I'm currently a sophmore in pre-calc and have only covered(for trig) the unit circle, right triangle trig, all 6 trig functions, graphs of all 6 and their inverses, and some identity stuff.
Is it viable with some extra work to start AP Calc AB basically tomorrow with this knowledge base? I'm a very fast learner, but can I learn the trig in AP Calc if I wanted to?

Edit: I must emphasize. I'm not switching, but doubling up.

You can study for it to take the AP exam, but you sure as hell are going to struggle in a class.

I don’t know why you’d try to switch from pre-calc to calc.

Considering what you’ve left to learn in precal and all you’ve missed in Calc this school year, I think it’d be unwise to switch right now.

I don’t know what the big deal is. I never took precalc and I got straight A’s in AP Calc. All you need to know is what you pretty much said. The majority of what you learn is new material and trig functions occasionally come up.

I must emphasize, I’m not switching, but doubling up.

Did you take Algebra/Trig? Before pre-calc, my school disregards trig.

Yes I took one semester of Algebra 2 and one semester of trig freshman year. By the time I took calc junior year the only things I remembered from trig was SOHCAHTOA and trig functions. I did fine.

The only thing that you may need to learn are the trig identities though they come up rarely. It only takes a few minutes to memorize them anyway.

What type of A do you have currently? 100? 90?
Edit: Screw it. I’m doing it. Off I go, have to do something tomorrow.

I’m a senior now. Last year my lowest quarter grade in AB was a 94 I think? Finished the year with a 98 due to projects and such after the AP test. This year I’m taking BC and my first quarter grade was a 99 though it was only AB review.
