Well, holistic admissions means they look at the whole file and there are no hard and fast rules on minimum gpas or test scores. So if that site says there is a minimum gpa, they don’t know what they are talking about. However, 90%+ of admits are in the top 10% of their high school class. None of them have gpas that low. The few B students getting accepted are going to be mostly development cases and athletic recruits or have some other incredibly special attribute.
That site doesn’t list ‘what Columbia says’.
If you want official information, look at the CDS or college data the website.
Using logic, you can guess that a university where the BOTTOM of the admitted class scored 700 on either part of the SAT is highly unlikely to have a minimum (bottom) 3.0 GPA.
