Is the free-standing M.A. program in political science at Columbia...

easier to get into than the PhD program? After reading the numerous FAQs around here, I've realized truly how difficult it is to get into a PhD program (especially one at a prominent school). Fortunately for me, however, I have no desire to obtain a PhD. Hypothetically speaking, would I be a match for Columbia's free-standing M.A. program in political science with these stats (from an average state school):

3.5 GPA

GRE: 700 V, 650 M, 5.0 A

A few clubs and internships that relate to politics

?

Also, would it matter if I had majored in accounting?

Anyone at all?

It's way easier to get into than the PhD program.

^^^^^

That's definitely reassuring.

Anyone else?

It's also more expensive (you have to fund your way). The PhD Political Science students receive full funding.

Hey i just applied to columbia PhD-political science... did they extend the deadline? i ask because the deadline on the website said dec 1st but i was able to submit my application today.
