Is the Kaplan SAT Subject Test Biology Prep Book Good?

I wanna know if the Kaplan SAT Subject test Biology Prep Book has good content and if the practice test are good representaion of the real thing. I need a response soon thanks in advance for everyones help

And one more thing is the Sparknotes SAT Subject Test online review book and test a good representation of the test

When I took the Biology Subject Test, I read the Kaplan book over a period of about two weeks and read/did the entire Princeton Book in about three hours the day before the test. The impression I got was that Kaplan will give you all the information you’ll ever need for the test while Princeton gives you about 90% of the material in a much more concise format. Kaplan’s is more complete, but if you are short on time or have a short attention span, the use Princeton’s, though I would recommend doing both if money and time allow.

The only time I ever used a Sparknotes test was when I was studying for the AP Biology Test last year, and I did not find it to be an accurate representation of the types of questions on the test at all. This might be different from their SAT tests, but I doubt it.

thank you and yeah i have time to review the book but i dont have the money to buy another but are the test from the kaplan SAT Subject test Biology a good representation of the real thing cause on the Kaplan my highest was a 650 but to me it looks way to detailed for the Sparnotes its my highest was 700 and in both i made some really stupid mistakes. But are the test for the kaplan book reliable and a good representataion of the real thing thats the big thing im worried about it looks way to detailed to me

Honestly, the tests I took from Princeton turned out to be the most reliable out of everything. I got about 670 on Kaplan’s tests while I got about 770 on Princeton’s which was far closer to my actual score. Kaplan’s tests are more in-depth while Princeton’s are more ‘basic’ and are probably closer to what you’d see on the actual SAT. Having only taken the Biology SAT ST once, my experience may not be ordinary, but I don’t think you can go wrong with either book.

thanks for your help appreciate it bro

if anyone else has anything to add to what WedgeDawg Said either agreeing or disagreeing with what he said or adding or something it would be great to have more than one source thank you

Thanxx WedgeDawg for the info.

What about Barron’s Bio SAT ST? Does it have enough info and is it as good as Princeton Review one? Thanx

I have personally never used Barron’s for an SAT subject test, but it’s widely known that their tests for the Math 2 exam are unreasonably difficult. I looked over a Barron’s book for the AP Psych Exam and it had a good amount of information, but never having seen one for Biology, I couldn’t give you an answer that pertains specifically for that test.

I say Kaplan is enough–in fact, very good. As long as you read it thoroughly and know everything then you should be able to score above 700. The only thing I recommend is finding pictures of diagrams of body systems on the web. I believe some are not in the book and they are important.

I would suggest reading over the PR after Kaplan if youd like just as a quick review.

But is the Kaplan practice Test a good representation of the reall thing or is is a lot harder or easier of what. THis question is to comegraduation

Kaplan isn’t terrible, but I personally liked Barron’s then Princeton Review the most.
