Is the list complete??? - education major

Okay, so my D has sent off a few applications, but I'm not sure if she should add any more to her list. She wants to major in education - elementary. Her stats are 3.9 GPA, 580 CR, 680 M, 530 W.
She's looking for a school 2000- 5000, preferably in the mid-atlantic/northeast, but not too far north!
Any suggestions for schools with good teacher education programs?
Thanks so much in advance

Have you looked into Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA? What about the College of William and Mary? Both offer good education programs and are in the student body size you've listed.

Vanderbilt has a great education program, I believe. But with those scores, it will be a high reach.

Your school sounds like it has a lot of grade inflation going on... no offense, but 3.9 unweighted GPA but she can't break 1800/2400 on the SAT? Did you consider maybe giving the ACT a go instead?

What state does your daughter want to work in? She should be looking at education programs either in that state, or in a state whose teaching certificates are accepted in that state. Here in Maryland, lots of our teachers are graduates of Towson University. I don't know anything in particular though about their elementary ed. program. Has she spoken with the teachers she knows? Her favorite elementary school teachers, or the principal at her old elementary school could be good people to ask for advice.

The other important thing to consider in a teacher education program is cost. Starting salaries for beginning teachers often aren't very high, and it can be difficult for them to pay down student loans without great financial struggle.

My dad was a career elementary school teacher. It is a great profession. I wish your daughter all the very best!

hotasice - Lots of people have good GPAs and marginal standardized test scores. Most colleges and universities care more about the GPA than they do about the test scores because they know this.
