Is the University at Buffalo a good school for engineering or is SUNY Stony Brook better?

I’m going back to finish my last year at a local community college. I had to take couple years off due to personal reasons. I didn’t want to but it was necessary. I’m planning on transferring. I was going to try to go somewhere completely new but, I don’t want to be too far from family. UB is an hour from me. Stony Brook is 7+ hours from me. What is a better engineering school? Which place would be easier to find a part time job in while attending school? I have a car payment and insurance. NOT getting rid of it and going back to a cheap piece of junk. I’ve done that too many times. What would be a better shcool for experience? I’m not talking about parties but not just limited to academics. I want to learn in and out of the classroom and always have something to do. Whether on campus or 50 miles away. I want to be able to get the best education I can while still being affordable. I’ve heard great things about both and would appreciate some input.

My car is a 2012 Ford Taurus (just got it 3 months ago) and the payment is $265 a month. Insurance is $108 a month. I know a place near UB I could work.

It sounds like UB is for you.
