I am probably one of the only people to apply with such temerity after failing a class. I failed Spanish 3 honors online over the summer of my freshman year. I also had French 1 on top of it, I made an 84 overall. However, it’s all horrible and my GPA is atrocious. There’s honestly no excuses for any of it. Currently, my gpa is a 3.8. I’m still in advanced classes and making all A’s and my ECs are outnumbered, but so many other talented people are applying who Have much better credentials than I do. I would just like to know what my odds are. Thank you for all who replies.
I’m not an expert, but my thoughts are that Boarding schools look for more than just outstanding grades. Your GPA is good by the way.
I have seen people get accepted into the mot prestigious boarding schools with mediocre SSAT grades and school grades. I think what matters a lot is your personality, how well you’d fit in with the boarding school, and then essays and recommendations, etc.
Hello, I am also applying to NCSSM this year. I am sure they won’t stare down onto that one failing class while there are many other things to consider. I wish you good luck… I am sure I will need it too and I have not failed a class… Actually, I have not taken any languages at all…
